Top Ten Paid iPhone Apps Year 2011

1.Angry Birds

Angry Birds, developed by Clickgamer.com, is the number one paid iPhone app in just about every country around the world. It’s a game which involves catapulting angry birds (of many different species) into the fortresses of the evil pigs, in an attempt to destroy the pigs and recover the stolen eggs. The twist – the fewer Angry Birds you use, the more points you get at the end of the round. It isn’t one of the most popular apps without reason – it’s addictive, original, and has so many levels that it takes ages to finish. Many people believe that it’s the most value-for-money app for iPhone out there, costing only $1.19 and coming with over 250 levels. With over 12 million purchases, over 46 000 positive iTunes reviews (average of 4.78/5) and numerous awards, Angry birds has got to be one of the best games available for iPhone, receiving 5/5 stars.

2.Fruit Ninja

In Fruit Ninja, you get to slice a diverse array of delicious fruit flying across your screen. This is no cooking game. This is a Kill Bill-style pulpy fruit massacre. Simply slide your finger across a fruit mid-flight and HI-YA! Fruit slices and a juicy splatter indicate that your fruit foe has been vanquished. While the graphics are fairly cartoony 3-D renderings, they're fun and fit with the overall feel of the game.

3.Angry Birds Seasons

In the game, players use a slingshot to launch birds at pigs stationed on or within various structures, with the intent of destroying all the pigs on the playfield. As players advance through the game, new birds appear, some with special abilities that can be activated by the player. Rovio Mobile has supported Angry Birds with numerous free updates that add additional game content, and the company has even released stand-alone holiday and promotional versions of the game.

4.Cut the Rope

The object of each level is to maneuver a piece of candy into the mouth of a green cartoon monster called "Om Nom". The candy hangs by one or several of the titular ropes which the player can cut with a swipe of their finger, and can also be manipulated through other objects including bellows and floating bubbles. Each level pack introduces new objects.
The other objectives are to pick up up to three stars per level by touching them with the candy, to keep the candy within the box, and to avoid spike and electricity hazards. Levels are scored with zero to three stars, according to how many the player picked up, and also with a point score depending on the number of stars collected and the time required for the completion of the level.

5.Tiny Wings

In Tiny Wings, the player takes control of a bird whose wings are too small to fly. The goal of the game is to use hills in order to gain speed and flutter as long as possible. This is done by tapping and holding the screen in order to make the bird dive. The game play mainly revolves around timing your taps so that the bird slides down hills and flies up them. The game's one level is separated into several islands, which have predetermined layouts. The game features special missions that allow players to upgrade their nest, which adds a score multiplier usually X2. These challenges revolve around reaching specific islands or performing certain tricks a number of times in one game. The game's visuals change daily along with the islands' layouts.

6.Angry Birds Rio

In Rio, the familiar Angry Birds have been kidnapped and taken to Rio de Janeiro. Just as in the original Angry Birds, players use a slingshot to launch birds at nearby structures, with the intent of hitting targets located on or within them. Instead of evil pigs that have stolen eggs, players must now rescue caged exotic birds or defeat evil marmosets, depending on the level being played. Certain levels allow players to use Blu and Jewel, the two lead characters from Rio. The game also includes the first boss fights to appear in the series, when the player uses the birds to attack Nigel, the main antagonist from the film, as well as new hidden items to collect as the player progresses through the game.In Rio, the familiar Angry Birds have been kidnapped and taken to Rio de Janeiro. 7.Words With Friends

Words With Friends is a multi-player word game developed by Zynga With Friends (formerly Newtoy, Inc.). Players can take turns building words crossword puzzle style with one or more friends, or by being matched with random opponents. Its rules and point system are based on that of the board game Scrabble. Up to 21 games can be played simultaneously using push notifications to alert players when it is their turn.Released July 2009 and published by Zynga, Words With Friends is available for cross-platform play on devices running the operating systems Android and iOS (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch). The game is also available on Facebook. In addition, there is a chat feature built in the game that allows you to chat with your opponent. Words with Friends is one of the top ranking games in the iOS application store, available as both a free ad support and an ad-less paid version.

8.Camera+

Photography apps for the iPhone tend to fall into one of two categories—specialty apps that focus on a single task (or, at most, related tasks) and multipurpose all-in-one offerings that try to cram in as many functions and features as possible. Camera Plus Pro from Global Delight falls in the latter category, by promising to do almost everything a camera app possibly could. From tasks as simple as taking a photo and saving it to your camera roll to taking a series of shots in burst mode, changing the brightness and saturation of the best one, and then uploading the altered image to Flickr, Camera Plus Pro does it all.

9.Doodle Jump

In Doodle Jump the aim is to guide a four-legged creature called "The Doodler" up a never-ending series of platforms without falling. The left side of the playing field is connected with the right side. For devices with an accelerometer, players tilt the device from side to side to move the Doodler in the desired direction. Players can get a short boost from various objects, such as propeller hats, jetpacks, rockets (having the longest boost), springs, trampolines and invulnerability shields (some levels only). There are also monsters and UFOs that the Doodler must avoid, shoot, or jump on to eliminate. Aiming is performed by tapping on different parts of the screen, on the Android and Windows Phone versions of the game there is also an automatic aim mode. Depending on the game mode being played, projectiles may fly in a straight line off the screen or be affected by gravity and fall downwards. There is no definitive end to the game, but the end for each gameplay session happens when the player falls to the bottom of the screen, jumps into a monster, gets sucked into a black hole, or is abducted by a UFO. Players can choose from several different themes including Original, Graveyard, Christmas, Rainforest, Space, Soccer World Cup, Easter, Underwater or Halloween. The themes change the look of the Doodle Jumper, his enemies, and the background. After losing the game at least 500 times (600 in the BlackBerry version) the Doodler is given the opportunity to wear a pickle costume. Furthermore, the player may enter the names of one of the Pocket God pygmies and the Doodler will turn into one of pygmies. Alternatively, the player can enter the name "Bunny" and the Doodler will wear a bunny suit, just like the one in the Easter stage. The lowest score a player can achieve is 0 and the highest 15 million.

10.Plants Vs. Zombies

In Plants vs. Zombies, players place different types of plants and fungi, each with their own unique offensive or defensive capabilities, around a house in order to stop a horde of zombies from eating the brains of the residents. The playing field is divided into a number of horizontal lanes, and with rare exceptions, a zombie will only move towards the player's house along one lane (the main exception is if it has taken a bite out of a garlic). Most plants can only attack or defend against zombies in the lane they are planted in. In later levels, players can purchase upgrades so as to adapt their lawn mower to new environments like pools or rooftops.
